Fighting hunger, one neighbor at a time
For more than three decades, Prairie Creek Food Bank has been run entirely by volunteers who believe that everyone deserves access to nourishing food. What began in 1987 as a handful of families sharing what they had has grown into a lifeline for hundreds of households across the county.
We keep our doors open because our community keeps showing up — with groceries, with time, and with heart.

How we help our neighbors
Three programs work together to make sure no one in Prairie Creek goes hungry, from busy weeknights to the holidays.
Fresh produce, pantry staples, and household essentials, available every week to any family who needs them — no complicated paperwork required.
Kids shouldn't head into the weekend hungry. We send local students home with backpacks of easy, nutritious food every Friday during the school year.
Each Thanksgiving and December, we prepare complete holiday meal boxes so families across the county can gather around a full table.
